Hero MotoCorp sets up assembly line in Nepal

Hero Motocorp, a prominent two-wheeler manufacturer, said on Sunday that it has launched an assembly plant in Nepal in collaboration with its distributor, CG Motors. The factory would have a capacity of 75,000 units per year, bringing new investments and job possibilities to the region, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.

Four newly introduced models in the nation – the Xpulse 200 4V, Super Splendour, Splendour+ motorbikes, and Xoom 110 scooter – will be built locally at the new assembly site in Nawalparasi’s CG Industrial Park, it said.

“This marks a significant achievement for CG Motors and Nepal. With the state-of-the-art assembly plant, we ensure that our top-notch products are manufactured within Nepal and accessible to customers nationwide,” remarked Sanjay Bhan, Chief Business Officer of Hero Motocorp’s Global Business Unit.

He added, “Expanding our sales and service network swiftly will help us firmly establish our world-class products and services in the market.”

According to the statement, CG Motors, a division of the Chaudhary Group, plans to quickly grow its sales and service network throughout Nepal to meet the increasing demand from customers.

Hero MotoCorp ventured into Nepal in 2014.

The Chaudhary Group (CG) is a significant business group in Nepal, with a global network of over 160 firms and 123 brands.

Hero MotoCorp Limited stands as the topmost manufacturer of two-wheelers worldwide. The company manufactures and sells motorised two-wheelers, replacement parts, and associated services. The company has an annual production capacity of about 9.50 million across eight manufacturing facilities: six in India and one each in Colombia and Bangladesh.
