21 Mar 2024 , 12:19 PM

On March 21, automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Adani Total Energies E-Mobility (ATEL), a subsidiary of Adani Total Gas Limited, aimed at establishing an expansive EV charging infrastructure across India.

This strategic move is anticipated to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country, as stated by the SUV manufacturer in a press release.

According to M&M, this collaboration represents a significant stride towards constructing a greener, more sustainable future, aligning with India’s ambitious climate action objectives.

The partnership is expected to involve the rollout of e-mobility solutions to offer seamless access to the charging network for customers, encompassing discovery, availability, navigation, and transactions.

The alliance will particularly benefit XUV400 customers, who will now have access to over 1,100 chargers via the Bluesense+ App, thereby enhancing the convenience and accessibility of electric vehicle charging for Mahindra EV owners.

Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M, expressed excitement about the partnership with Adani Total Energies, highlighting its significance in enhancing the EV charging infrastructure to ensure customers’ seamless access and digital integration for an unparalleled EV experience.

Nakra further emphasized M&M’s commitment to enhancing customer experience through partner networks, actively onboarding multiple partners to expand the EV ecosystem and drive electric vehicle adoption.

Suresh P Manglani, Executive Director & CEO of Adani Total Gas, lauded the collaboration with M&M for charging infrastructure, portraying it as another step towards expanding Adani Total Gas Ltd’s footprint in the EV space. He noted that such partnerships would bolster customer confidence in embracing EV technology as part of the energy transition, ultimately contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and helping India achieve its climate action goals.
