On Wednesday (November 20), IT major Wipro Ltd announced a strategic alliance with Lineaje, a US-based software supply chain security startup, to improve the security of open-source components in enterprise software systems.
This alliance followed Wipro Ventures’ investment in Lineaje. The alliance intends to address emerging cybersecurity concerns by leveraging Lineaje’s experience safeguarding software supply chains.
Wipro will employ Lineaje’s Open-Source Manager and SBOM360 Hub to provide organisations with a comprehensive service for continuously identifying and mitigating major open-source vulnerabilities in the software they source, produce, and use.
This product is based on Lineaje’s sophisticated capabilities for thoroughly analysing software components, exposing known and hidden dependencies, and assessing vulnerabilities and risks within each component.
This insight enables the verification of the complete supply chain’s authenticity, proactive vulnerability elimination at the source, and detection and remediation of potential software supply chain compromises.
This collaboration with Wipro demonstrates Lineaje’s creative strategy and broadens its reach and resources to further transform software supply chain security. Wipro and Lineaje’s collaborative products will assist enterprise customers in centralising their software supply chain risk management and addressing major vulnerabilities found using the Lineaje platform.
