On Thursday, contract manufacturing business Zetwerk Manufacturing announced that it has secured a 1,515 MWp (megawatt peak) order from NTPC for the production and supply of ALMM-compliant solar PV modules. This will include needed spares for Gujarat’s 1,200-MW Khavda solar plant.
Zetwerk, based in Bengaluru, did not disclose the order’s value. However, according to ET, industry insiders estimated that the contract may be worth Rs 2,500 crore.
ALMM stands for Approved List of Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules.
“This second order from NTPC is a testament to our commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality solar solutions,” said Srinath Ramakkrushnan, one of Zetwerk’s founders.
Zetwerk stated that it will service this order in 210 days. “Zetwerk’s ALMM-compliant modules align with the Indian government’s vision of promoting domestic manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports,” according to the corporation.
Zetwerk’s energy transition business spans renewable energy, including solar PV module production, battery pack and charger manufacture, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
