Government to Form SPV to Spur Domestic Aircraft Production

The government intends to establish a special purpose vehicle to go forward with plans to manufacture aircraft in India, Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said on Wednesday. Speaking at a conference in the national capital, Naidu stated that efforts are being made to ensure that aircraft production begins in the country within the next five years.

India is one of the world’s most rapidly increasing civil aviation markets.

Naidu stated that the civil aviation ministry intends to establish a special purpose vehicle to further attempts to begin aircraft manufacture in the country.

The minister was addressing at a conference hosted by industry association PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
