Hindustan Copper and Balrampur Chini feature on the F&O ban list as of January 2. Stocks enter the ban period when open interest (OI) surpasses 95% of the market-wide positions limits (MWPL). The ban is lifted only when OI falls below 80%.
Traders dealing with indices are not subject to security bans. Despite Indian benchmark indices reaching new highs on Monday, gains were erased due to selling pressure in bank and auto stocks.
The S&P BSE Sensex hit a record high of 72,561.91 but closed at 72,271.94, registering a 0.04% increase.
The broader Nifty reached 21,834.35 before settling at 21,741.90, reflecting a 0.05% increase amid the selling pressure in specific sectors.
