With the relaxations easing out due to the reducing trend seen in Covid cases, the Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) will now resume services of Tejas Express on the Ahmedabad – Mumbai – Ahmedabad route on five days a week frequency from February 11, 2022, strictly following all the passenger health and Covid safety protocols.
In view of the resurgence of Covid cases, the IRCTC had decided to reduce the frequency of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express to three days between January 12 and February 11.
During early trade on Friday, Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd was trading at Rs834.20 per share down by Rs11.45 or 1.35% from its previous closing of Rs845.65 per share on the BSE.
“The strict implementation of the Covid Safety Protocols has generated huge amount of passenger confidence which could be seen during the Diwali festival as well as post festive season.
Further, with the Wedding season picking up, it is felt that the train will witness a progressive increase in occupancy levels. Passengers have been regularly choosing Tejas Express over other trains due to high levels of service standards as well maintaining the best hygiene practices in these Covid times,” company said in a filing on Thursday.
With this resumption Tejas Express will operate on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays w.e.f February 11, 2022 between Mumbai – Ahmedabad sector.
IRCTC informed that, “It will continue its incessant efforts in providing punctual and comfortable journeys complemented with best in class on board Hospitability Services and Hygiene practices.”
