Diesel and gasoline in Kolkata are priced at Rs91.71 and Rs101.62 per liter, respectively. On September 5, Delhi and Mumbai each saw a 15-paise reduction in the price of gasoline. After three days of stability in fuel prices, the modification occurred. After remaining steady for seven days, oil marketing organizations (OMCs) updated fuel prices on September 1. In metro cities, the cost of gasoline was reduced by 10—15 paise, while that of diesel was decreased by 14—15 paise.
The last time fuel prices increased was on July 17. Prior to that, the cost of gasoline jumped by Rs11.44 per liter between May 4 and July 17, while the cost of diesel increased by Rs9.14. As a result, numerous Indian cities and villages saw gasoline prices above the psychological Rs100 threshold. Due to value-added tax (VAT) and freight costs, fuel prices vary from state to state. Rates for gasoline and diesel must be evaluated and altered each day in accordance with the pricing methodology used by oil firms. At six in the morning, the new pricing goes into effect.
