GitHub makes its developer program available in India

GitHub, an open-source software development platform, announced on Tuesday that it has opened up its developer platform to Indian developers in order to support the country's startup environment

To support the growth of the startup environment, open-source software development site GitHub has made its developer platform accessible in India.

Up to 20 free seats of GitHub Enterprise, along with help and direction from GitHub technical experts, will be provided to qualified entrepreneurs in India and throughout the world for one year.

GitHub, which is owned by Microsoft, has more than 7.2 million developers in India and more than 83 million worldwide.

GitHub for Startups, which was introduced earlier this year, has been assisting hundreds of startups—including a few in India—in the pilot group with collaboration and productivity, security, and harnessing the speed of creation.
