Ola Electric is downsizing its workforce and eliminating 200 positions, the majority of which are in software development.

3,000 new employees will be employed to focus on areas other than software programming.

The business, which sells electric scooters, has been concentrating more on non-software engineering domains with "a clear focus on building engineering and R&D skills across a variety of sectors, including vehicle, cell, battery, manufacturing and automation, autonomous engineering streams, and others."

Additionally, the firm is aiming to release its first electric vehicle in 2024.
