SML Isuzu suspends production in Punjab due to rising COVID cases

The company has decided to temporarily suspend production at its manufacturing plant, located at village Asron, Distt. Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar in Punjab.

Shares of SML Isuzu dipped in today's trade on the stock exchange soon after the company has decided to temporarily suspend production at a manufacturing plant in Punjab due to an increase in COVID cases.

The stock is currently trading at Rs670.20 down by Rs1.4 or 0.21% from its previous closing of Rs671.60 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs671.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs673.15 and Rs660 respectively.

In the regulatory filing, the company said that due to sudden increase in covid (Omicron variant) cases, resulting in disruptions in the supply chain and likely impact on the demand of school buses, and to ensure higher safety of employees, and to optimize the inventory, the company has decided to temporarily suspend production at its manufacturing plant, located at village Asron, Distt. Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar in Punjab, effective from Monday 10th January 2022 to Saturday, 15th January 2022.
