Nifty Consumer Durables gains 1% as heavyweights lift the index; Titan, Amber, Bata India top bulls

The index has gained by around 1% and even neared 29,900-mark.

Nifty Consumer Durables index was on the bull run during Monday's trading session amid price hikes and ahead of Q3FY22 corporate earnings. The index has gained by around 1% and even neared 29,900-mark. Positive broader markets further lifted the sentiments.

At around 2.58 pm, the Nifty Consumer Durables index was trading at 29,895.35 up by 294.20 points or 0.99%. On the index, 9 scrips advanced and 6 scrips declined.

Titan was the top bull soaring by over 3%. The stock even neared a record high.

Amber stock gained over 2.6%, while Bata India surged 2.5%. VGuard soared over 1%.

Orient Electric and Whirlpool zoomed between 0.7-1%. Dixon gained 0.3%, while TTK Prestige traded marginally up. Rajesh Exports traded flat but in green.

On the contrary, Voltas and Havells India dipped more than 1% each. Relaxo and Blue Star tumbled between 0.9-1%. Crompton and Kajaria Ceramics traded flat but in the red.

Air conditioners and refrigerators prices have been hiked starting this year to pass on the impact of higher raw material costs and rising freight charges. Also, home appliances are expected to record a 5-10% price hike between this month to March.
