Bisleri International has signed a manufacturing and bottling agreement with the Dubai-based diversified Nasser Abdulla Lootah group, marking the company’s first international expansion.
The Nasser Abdulla group, which has been in business for 25 years, has holdings in travel, shipping, logistics, mineral water, real estate, and information technology.
Emirates Drinking Water Group will manufacture the Indian company’s Bisleri water at its Dubai plants, which will be sold in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi in mass-premium general and modern trade stores, hotels, and restaurants, and through e-commerce platforms.
According to the company’s website, Emirates Drinking Water has the capacity to produce 45,000 cartons per day.
The news comes as Tata Consumer Products is close to finalizing one of India’s largest FMCG deals, acquiring Bisleri International for an estimated Rs6,000-7,000 crore, with the current management remaining in place for two years.
Bisleri International has over 150 manufacturing plants in India, as well as a network of over 6,000 distributors and 7,500 trucks. In addition to Bisleri mineral water, the company sells Vedica premium spring water. Its product portfolio also includes the carbonated drinks Limonata and Spyci, as well as soda and fruit drinks.
