Eicher Motors introduces new range of heavy duty trucks with an eye on infra

21 Nov 2023 , 02:59 PM

Eicher Trucks & Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), introduced the Eicher Non-Stop Series, a redesigned version of its heavy-duty trucks (HDTs), on November 20. Long-haul trucks are designed to deliver cement, tanker, steel, bulker, and market load for enterprises involved in infrastructure and building projects.

The Eicher Pro 6019 XPT Tipper, Eicher Pro 6048XP haulage truck, Eicher Pro 6055XP and Eicher Pro 6055XP 42 tractor-trucks are part of the Non-Stop Series, which will be introduced in a phased manner across the country. Eicher indicated that it invests Rs 500-600 crore per year on product development, capacity enhancement, and other areas, without specifying the product lines.

According to Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO of VECV, tractors account for 20% of the domestic heavy commercial vehicle market, tippers account for 25%, and multi-axle accounts for the remaining 20%.

He also stated that the business is considering offering LNG versions of its HDTs, including the recently introduced ones.

Eicher claimed that the vehicles are supported by a network of over 850 touchpoints across the country, including 425 licensed service stations and over 8,000 retail parts outlets. According to the firm, all Eicher HD cars have 100 percent connection and are maintained by an uptime centre.
