L-;T's construction arm bags significant orders for its power transmission -; distribution business

4 Oct 2022 , 11:27 AM

Larsen & Toubro Limited informed that L&T Construction's Power Transmission & Distribution Business has received several orders both in India and internationally.

The company has received a contract to build a 765kV transmission line in Gujarat. This network extension will boost the 'available power transfer capacity' of the interstate transmission system.

The company also received an order to upgrade the distribution system in a state in North-East India. This project's scope involves the reinforcement of medium and low voltage distribution networks.

The company has also received repeat orders to construct new 132kV substations in the United Arab Emirates.

Furthermore, it also received an order to build a 380kV overhead line in Saudi Arabia, which will assist in enhancing the evacuation infrastructure and increase grid dependability in the Kingdom's western area.

As the distribution system in Bangladesh's Dhaka and Narayanganj agglomerations is being improved, the company has received contracts to build two additional 132kV and 33kV substations in these areas as well.

Larsen & Toubro was trading at Rs1,855.40 per piece, up by 1.98% from its previous closing of Rs1,819.30 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs1,841.20 and touched intraday high and low of Rs1,880 and Rs1,841.20 respectively.
