Welspun Enterprises bags additional order worth Rs1,600 crore from Soma Indus

Welspun Enterprises informed that in reference to its disclosures dated March 25, 2021, and September 2, 2021, concerning procurement and construction contract of Rs2,336 crore for the Project, entered into with Soma Indus Varanasi Aurangabad Tollway Private Limited (Soma Indus).

The company has informed that it secured a Letter of Award from the Company for the Project for an additional contract of Rs1,600 crore (inclusive of GST).

Under this contract, the Company will be responsible for undertaking the procurement and construction.

The project construction will start in May 2022 and is scheduled to be completed by November 2023.

This takes the outstanding EPC order book of the Company to Rs8,400 crore, of which ~Rs5,950 crore is in the road sector.

The project construction will start in May 2022 and is scheduled to be completed by November 2023. Further, the earlier procurement and construction contract for the Project of Rs2,336 crore (which became effective in September 2021) has been de-scoped by Rs340 crore (inclusive of GST).
