The key initiatives which will help in attaining the net zero targets include viability gap funding for wind energy, setting up of coal gasification and liquefaction capacity, phased mandatory blending of CNG, PNG and compressed biogas and financial assistance for procurement of biomass aggregation machinery.
Coal gasification and liquefaction capacity of 100 MT will be set up by 2030. This will also help in reducing imports of natural gas, methanol, and ammonia.
1 crore households will be enabled to obtain up to 300 units of free electricity per month. Adoption of e-buses for public transport network and strengthening e-vehicle ecosystem by supporting manufacturing and charging remain one of the focus areas of the government.
Government plans to launch a new scheme of bio-manufacturing and bio-foundry to support environment friendly alternatives. 10 crore LPG connections have been released under PMUY. 36.9 crore LED bulbs, 72.2 lakh LED Tube lights, and 23.6 lakh Energy efficient fans distributed under UJALA. 1.3 crore LED Street Lights have been installed under SNLP.
