Ather Energy Narrows Q4 Loss to ₹234 Crore, Revenue Jumps 29% YoY

Ather Energy, the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler maker, recorded a healthier performance for the quarter ending March 2025 by decreasing its net loss to ₹234.4 crore from ₹283.3 crore in the similar quarter last year.

Revenue of the company grew 29% year-on-year at ₹676 crore in Q4 FY25 from ₹523 crore in Q4 FY24 driven by increased vehicle volumes and better software income. For the whole financial year FY25, Ather posted a net loss of ₹812 crore, a remarkable turn-around from ₹1,059.7 crore in FY24, headed towards profitability.

EBITDA loss was ₹172.5 crore in March 2025 quarter, a performance improved compared to the ₹238.5 crore EBITDA loss the company posted in the same quarter last year.

The company saw sharp growth in adjusted gross margins, which increased to 19% in FY25 from 9% of FY24 because of better cost control, better operating efficiency, and positive product mix.

Ather’s e-scooter sales grew by 42% during FY25 at 1,55,394 units from FY24 sales of 1,09,577 units of scooters. The recently introduced Ather Rizta in the quarter contributed 57% of Q4 FY25 gross sales and helped the company gain market share in major markets such as Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

Ather recorded strong performance in South India with a market share of 19.7% in the year. Approximately 88% of Ather’s customers purchased the Pro Pack software package deal in FY25, increasing recurring revenue and the company’s bottom line.

The company expanded its Indian retail footprint by 32% during Q4 FY25, enabling increased accessibility and customer reach. CEO and Executive Director Tarun Mehta said FY25 was a year of strong volume and margin growth, and apart from this investment in engineering and R&D gave a 1,000 bps of gross margin expansion on an adjusted basis and 1,300 bps of EBITDA loss reduction.
