Blue Star, India’s leading air conditioning brand, today unveiled its new comprehensive range of ACs for the summer season, including a ‘best-in-class affordable’ range and a ‘flagship premium’ range. To cater to every consumer segment, the Company has launched nearly 75 models across the spectrum of inverter, fixed speed, and Window ACs, as well as across price points.
Following the Company’s strategic repositioning as a mass premium brand in 2020, it has been augmenting and leveraging its manufacturing, innovation, and R&D capabilities to roll out new, differentiated, and best-in-class ranges of affordable split ACs to cater to price sensitive consumers and first-time buyers, particularly in Tier 2, 3, 4, and 5 markets.
In order to achieve cost leadership, Blue Star has also implemented a Total Cost Management (TCM) programme to maximize efficiency across the entire cost-value chain, said the company in its media release.
Blue Star Climatech Limited, a strong supporter of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan, has established a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Sri City, with commercial production beginning in January 2023. Some of Blue Star’s new products will be sourced from here.
This new automated and smart factory is outfitted with the most advanced automation techniques and tools for its assembly line and material handling, among other things, and has extensively deployed a slew of IoT and digitization initiatives.
Furthermore, as part of its commitment to the Green movement, the company has applied for the IGBC Gold Rating for this facility.
The company has spent approximately Rs350 crore on this plant so far (of the total Rs550 crore planned in a phased manner over a few years, for this project). The plant began production on January 1, 2023, and will produce approximately 3 lakh units in its first year before gradually increasing production to 1.2 million units thereafter.
