Adani Green Energy announced the operationalization of a 180-MW solar power plant in Devikot, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
The plant secured a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), as stated by Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), the country’s largest renewable energy firm.
With this new addition, AGEL’s operational solar portfolio has surged to 6,243 MW, and the total operational renewable generation capacity to 9,784 MW, making it India’s largest.
The company announced that its newly commissioned solar plant is anticipated to produce approximately 540 million units of electricity annually, catering to over 1.1 lakh households and contributing to the mitigation of around 0.39 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. This plant employs advanced bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single axis solar trackers (HSAT), enhancing energy generation by tracking the sun’s trajectory throughout the day.
Furthermore, the company highlighted the implementation of waterless robotic module cleaning systems at the plant, promoting water conservation in the arid region of Jaisalmer. Additionally, real-time monitoring of renewable energy assets is facilitated through the Energy Network Operation Centre (ENOC), operating on a secure digital cloud platform.
