Bharti Airtel Ltd announced a 168% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit of ₹3,593.2 Crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2024.
In the preceding fiscal quarter, Bharti Airtel reported a net profit of ₹1,341 Crore, according to a regulatory filing.
The company’s revenue from operations climbed 12% to ₹41,473.3 Crore from ₹37,043.8 Crore in the previous fiscal period, led by a robust upswing in India and continuous growth in Africa on a constant currency basis.
Postpaid customer additions totalled 0.8 Million in Q2 FY25. In Q2 FY25, the average revenue per user (ARPU) for mobile services rose to ₹233, up from ₹203 in Q2 FY24. Data use per subscriber climbed by 22.6% year-on-year to 23.9 GB per month.
The India business reported sales of ₹31,561 Crore, up 16.9% year-on-year and 8.7% quarter-on-quarter. This was driven by increased mobile realisations and strong growth in the Homes and Airtel Business divisions.
Mobile services in India saw an 18.5% year-on-year revenue gain, boosted by pricing modifications, an increase in smartphone data users, and improved customer mix. Airtel Business reported a 10.7% year-on-year revenue increase, demonstrating excellent performance in its domestic portfolio, while the Homes business increased by 17.3% year on year due to significant subscriber additions. The Digital TV segment increased modestly by 1.0% year on year.
The company’s consolidated EBITDA was ₹22,021 Crore, with an EBITDA margin of 53.1%. The India business generated ₹17,295 Crore in EBITDA, with a margin of 54.8%, an 86-basis-point increase year on year.
