In August, state-owned CIL’s coal production fell by 11.9% to 46.1 million tonnes (MT), according to the PSU. Coal India Ltd (CIL) said in a BSE filing that its coal production in the same month of the previous fiscal year was 52.3 million tonnes.

However, the company’s coal production increased to 290.4 MT between April and August, up from 281.5 MT the previous year, according to the filing.
