Crompton bags fourth solar pump order from HAREDA

21 Mar 2024 , 11:33 AM

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., famous for its unique pumping solutions, is pleased to announce its fourth consecutive win of a major solar water pumping system order under the prestigious PM-KUSUM project for the state of Haryana.

The newest order, sanctioned by the New & Renewable Energy Department Haryana and HAREDA, involves the delivery, installation, and commissioning of 7.5 HP DC, 10 HP AC, and 10 HP DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems valued at more than ₹9 Crore.

This achievement is part of a bigger programme led by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) that aims to replace and link 6.5 Lac pumps across India. HAREDA has received a total of ₹65.6 Crore in orders so far.

Crompton has secured a Letter of Empanelment for 2500 solar pumping systems in Maharashtra, with 500 systems approved by MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd.) and 2000 by MEDA (Maharashtra Energy Development Agency).

The Commissionerate of Horticulture in Rajasthan has issued another letter of empanelment for 1000 solar pumping systems.

The total value of Letters of Empanelment received is around ₹85 Crore, representing another step forward in its commitment to agricultural sustainability. This important accomplishment, together with the recent fourth order from Haryana and LOE from the Maharashtra and Rajasthan governments, highlights Crompton’s expanding reach and commitment to offering sustainable solutions and using technology for a greener future.

Crompton intends to deploy approximately 10,000 solar-powered pumps under the PM-KUSUM Scheme over the next five years in an effort to make a difference in the energy efficiency category. Crompton can meet its goal of deploying a wide range of highly energy-efficient and innovative solar water pumps by leveraging an extensive after-sales service network, technically equipped channel partner presence across India, top R&D and manufacturing facilities, and a rigorous 5-stage product development process.

At around 10.52 AM, Crompton was trading 1.60% higher at ₹269.15, against the previous close of ₹264.90 on NSE.
