On Wednesday (September 25), Indian IT services giant Infosys Ltd stated that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Swedish electric car maker Polestar to develop a new technological hub in Bengaluru.
The collaboration intends to improve Polestar’s in-car infotainment, software, and electrical/electronics (SW&EE) engineering, user experience, and cloud-based digital services.
Infosys will support this partnership by using in-tech, a recent purchase in the research and development (R&D) sector, to accelerate the development of Polestar’s next generation automotive technology.
This hub seeks to provide electric vehicle (EV) software development and validation in a variety of disciplines, including infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and telematics.
It also helps Polestar with product management, customer interaction, and corporate solutions, as well as accelerating direct-to-consumer digital offerings via cloud-native development, testing, and data engineering.
Polestar will benefit from accessing Infosys’ strategic assets, including engineering laboratories, design studios, and Infosys Living laboratories, to boost innovation.
Maria Lexe, Polestar’s Head of Digital, said, Polestar is thrilled to collaborate with Infosys to develop a tech hub in India. Infosys has a good track record in similar operations, and we are confident in their abilities to oversee this tech hub in order to drive IT economies and innovation.
