On Sunday, Jindal Stainless Ltd revealed the completion of the delivery of 75 tonnes of premium-grade steel for the Kolkata Metro’s Esplanade-Howrah Maidan section, which traverses beneath the Hooghly River in West Bengal. The undersea metro initiative was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this month.
Jindal Stainless said in a statement that it supplied premium ‘SS 301LN’ grade stainless steel for the project’s coaches and infrastructure, which is part of the East-West Metro circuit that connects Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V.
JSL stated that SS 301 N is a corrosion-resistant grade that does not require frequent repair and maintenance and is the most cost-effective choice in terms of life cycle costs. The company also delivered 75 tonnes of steel.
Jindal Stainless Limited was formed on September 29, 1980, as Jindal Ceramics Limited. The company is India’s top manufacturer of stainless steel with integrated melting products, with a capacity of 1.1 MTPA, which can be scaled up to 3.2 MTPA. It produces stainless steel flat products in austenitic, ferritic, martensitic, and duplex grades.
At around 10.48 AM, Jindal Stainless was trading 1.61% lower at ₹653.85, against the previous close of ₹664.55 on NSE.
