The Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) on Wednesday sent out a safety alert to Delhi residents, advising them to avoid burning effigies close to electrical installations as the Dussehra celebrations draw near.
The statement underscored the company’s dedication to augmenting public safety by guaranteeing sufficient illumination in communal areas, specifically during the holiday season.
The firm issued a statement highlighting the significant safety dangers that come with burning effigies close to overhead power lines and electrical equipment. The statement said that doing so could result in power outages and fire hazards, endangering public safety.
According to the statement, Tata Power-DDL is presently carrying out a thorough safety drive to reduce these risks. This drive involves evaluating approximately 2.28 lakh installations, including as service pillars, street lights, and concrete poles, in order to find and fix any possible hazards.
It further stated that the maintenance and operations teams are always ready to handle any emergency pertaining to safety.
As a result of the expected surge in public activity during Dussehra, a maintenance campaign for high-mast and street lights has been launched, according to the statement.
The statement also stated that Tata Power-DDL is conducting widespread awareness efforts through customer service centers and other venues to reduce the possibility of fire and electrocution occurrences during the festivities.
