JSW Energy announced on Friday that its two arms had inked agreements to supply 1,200 MW of power to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company.
The agreements were made for two hybrid projects, each with a capacity of 600 MW, for a total of 1,200 MW.
JSW Energy said that letters of award for these projects were obtained on August 29, 2024 and September 10, 2024, respectively.
JSW Renew Energy Six Ltd and JSW Renew Energy Thirty Ltd, JSW Energy’s step-down subsidiaries, have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) for solar-wind hybrid capacity connected to state transmission utilities (STUs), according to a company statement.
The projects are projected to be operational within 24 months, with agreements set for a 25-year duration at a rate of Rs 3.60/kWh.
The company now has an 8.3 GW project pipeline, with 4.4 GW of PPAs signed.
JSW Energy has a total locked-in generation capacity of 18.2 GW, which includes 7.7 GW operational, 2.1 GW under construction in wind, thermal, and hydro, and an 8.3 GW renewable energy pipeline.
