ABB India Ltd. informed the investors that the company has helped Wonder Cement, one of the leading cement manufacturing companies in India, saving 1.8GWh energy annually. Wonder cement has installed ABB’s ACS880- based SPRS solution that helps in saving energy, at the company’s manufacturing plant situated in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The plant runs three production lines, with a total capacity of producing 8 million tons per annum (MTPA) of clinker.
ABB’s ACS880 based SPRS solution plays a crucial role in controlling the speed of slip ring motors and aids in achieving significant energy savings. The built-in energy calculators including used and saved kilowatt-hours, CO2 reduction, and money saved, facilitate the customer to use the manufacturing processes in best possible manner to ensure efficient energy use. With the energy optimizer mode companies can maximize torque per ampere, reducing energy drawn from the supply.
Taking assistance from SPRS, Wonder Cement saved 1.8 GWh – 2.0 GWh energy annually, equivalent to the energy consumed by over 9,000 houses per month.
