Three stocks were banned from trading on August 2, 2023, under the futures and options (F&O) segment by the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The ban was imposed because these securities crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL), as reported by the NSE.
The affected stocks are Piramal Enterprises, Hindustan Copper, and Indiabulls Housing Finance.
The NSE updates the F&O ban list daily, and the mentioned stocks are currently under the ban period due to their derivative contracts exceeding the MWPL.
Traders and members are only allowed to trade in these derivative contracts to decrease their positions through offsetting. Any increase in open positions will be subject to penalties and disciplinary actions, as stated by the NSE.
During the F&O ban period, no fresh positions can be taken in any of the F&O contracts of the specified stocks, as per the stock exchange rules.
