Bajaj Auto Ltd reports a 15% YoY decline in total sales for August 2023. Total vehicle sales dropped to 3,41,648 units from 4,01,595 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales fell by 20% to 2,05,100 units, while exports decreased by 6% to 1,36,548 units, YoY.
Two-wheeler sales witnessed a sharp 20% drop, with 2,85,031 units sold in August 2023. Domestic two-wheeler sales saw a significant 31% decline YoY, while two-wheeler exports increased by 2%. The commercial vehicle (CV) segment performed well, with sales increasing by 23% to 56,617 units. Domestic CV sales surged by an impressive 93% YoY, while CV exports declined by 46%.
Bajaj Auto’s share price has rallied over 29% year-to-date but remained flat in the last three months. The sales data reflects challenges in the domestic two-wheeler market while highlighting a stronger performance in the commercial vehicle segment.
