Benchmark Indices Close Marginally Higher Amidst Volatility

On September 14, benchmark indices experienced a slightly higher closing in a volatile trading session. The Sensex concluded the day with a gain of 52.01 points or 0.08%, closing at 67,519.00, while the Nifty registered a rise of 33.10 points or 0.16%, ending at 20,103.10. Among the stocks traded, 2302 saw gains, 1243 witnessed declines, and 145 remained unchanged.

The Nifty’s top gainers included UPL, Hindalco Industries, ONGC, M&M, and Eicher Motors, while Asian Paints, Coal India, ITC, LTIMindtree, and Britannia Industries were among the losers.

On the Sensex, M&M, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, Nestle India, and Infosys were the leading gainers, whereas Asian Paints, ITC, Bajaj Finserv, ICICI Bank, and Sun Pharma ended the day as losers.

In terms of sectors, the FMCG index experienced a slight dip, while the oil & gas, realty, metal, and PSU Bank sectors each saw a 1% increase.

The broader market indices, specifically the BSE midcap and Smallcap indices, outperformed the main indices, both registering a 1% gain.
