Bharat Forge commences supply of forgings using ‘Green Steel’

Bharat Forge Limited has initiated supply of forgings made of Green Steel, which is manufactured and supplied by Saarloha Advanced Materials Private Limited (Saarloha), a subsidiary of the Kalyani Group.

Green steel under the brand ‘KALYANI FeRRESTA & KALYANI FeRRESTA PLUS’ is manufactured in an Electric Arc Furnace with electricity derived entirely from renewable sources and more than 70% recycled scrap material, leaving no GHG footprint.

Customers who purchase KALYANI FeRRESTA and KALYANI FeRRESTA PLUS steel products will receive Green Steel certificates issued jointly by DNV Business Assurance India Private Limited and Saarloha, which they can use to claim Scope 3 emissions reductions, said the company in its media release.

Bharat Forge, with the largest metallurgical knowledge repository, provides full-service supply capability to its geographically dispersed marquee customers, from concept to product design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and validation.

At around 9.43 AM, Bharat Forge was trading 1.63% lower at Rs 859, against the previous close of Rs 873.20 on NSE.
