BSE appoints Pramod Agrawal as new Chairman effective January 17

In a recent update, the market regulator BSE announced that it has approved the appointment of Pramod Agrawal as the Chairman and public interest director of BSE.

The BSE said that the board has approved the appointment on December 13 while the market regulator accorded approval on Tuesday. Agrawal will assume the role of Chairman on January 17, 2024, following the end of SS Mundra’s term as a Chairman on January 16, 2024.

Pramod Agrawal is a former Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer who served as Coal India Chairman from February 2020 until June 2023. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has accepted the appointment of Pramod Agrawal, the former CEO of Coal India, as the chairman of the BSE.

Agrawal graduated with honours from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai with a BTech in Civil Engineering and the IIT Delhi with an MTech in Design Engineering.
