On Thursday, the state-owned CIL reported a 9.1% increase in coal output to 78.4 million tonnes (MT) in January. In the previous fiscal year’s equivalent month, the business produced 71.9 MT of coal, according to a BSE report by Coal India Ltd.
According to the filing, CIL’s coal output grew to 610.3 MT in April-January from 550.9 MT in the same period last fiscal year.
As per the company, the coal offtake in January grew to 67.60 MT as compared to 64.40 MT in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Dry fuel use grew to 619.5 MT between April and January, up from 572.3 MT the previous year.
Coal India’s production accounts for more than 80% of domestic coal production.
Coal India’s stock closed at around 2.61% higher at Rs 417.30, against the previous close of Rs 406.70 on NSE.
