Mumbai residents pay Rs106.31 for a litre of gasoline and Rs94.27 for a litre of diesel. In Delhi, a litre of gasoline costs Rs96.72 and a litre of diesel costs Rs89.62. Diesel and gasoline cost, respectively, are Rs102.63 and Rs94.24 and Rs106.03 and Rs92.76 in Chennai and Kolkata.

The benchmark price for U.S. oil fell as low as $92.42 a barrel, its lowest level since July 14. Prices have fluctuated as investors balance concerns about a probable global recession with a limited worldwide supply.
