GAIL appoints Sandeep Kumar Gupta as new MD -; Chairman; stock adds ~1%

GAIL (India) Limited informed that the company has appointed Sandeep Kumar Gupta as the new Chairman and Managing Director.

Sandeep Kumar Gupta holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Prior to joining GAIL, Shri Gupta served as Director (Finance) on the Board of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, the top PSU integrated Energy Company in the Fortune “Global 500,” and various group companies, from August 2019.

He has over 34 years of expertise in the Oil and Gas Industry, handling F&A, Treasury, Pricing, International Trade, Optimisation, Information Systems, Corporate Affairs, Legal, Risk Management, and so on.

Gupta underlined his confidence in the Company’s vision to continuously pursue its growth route in the Natural Gas value chain.

Gupta received significant individual accolades such as “CA CFO- Large Corporate – Manufacturing and Infrastructure Category” by ICAI in January 2021 for Financial and Risk Management amid Pandemic and was named one of the Top 30 CFOs in India by StartupLanes.com in May 2022.

At around 9.18 AM, GAIL (India) was trading at Rs85.80 up by Rs0.55 or 0.65% from its previous closing of Rs85.25 on the BSE.
