Goa Carbon skyrockets ~9% as company resume operations at Goa Unit

Goa Carbon Limited’s counter shot up nearly 9% in today’s trade after the company announced the resumption of operations at its Goa Unit.

At around 11.54 AM, Goa carbon was trading at Rs358.45, up by 8.54% against its previous close of Rs330.25 on the National Stock Exchange. It hit intraday high and low of Rs367.45 and Rs333.90 respectively.

It stated in the regulatory filing, “Further to our letter dated April 5, 2022, we wish to inform the exchange that the operations at the Company’s – Unit located at St. Jose de Areal, Saicete-Goa has resumed.”

The company further stated that the Kiln has been lit up from yesterday after preliminary heat up and commencement of feeding of raw material normal production is likely to resume from today.
