Hong Kong share market finished session higher on Wednesday, 15 June 2022, as risk appetite resumed after reports from the second-largest economy in the world showed signs of recovery last month, bolstering the case for more policy easing to further stoke growth. However, market gains capped on caution ahead of U.S. Federal Reserve policy decision later in the day that could see a much more hawkish shift. At closing bell, the benchmark Hang Seng Index increased 240.22 points, or 1.14%, to 21,308.21. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index was up 119.28 points, or 1.63%, to 7,452.89. Chinas industrial output climbed 0.7% in May as compared with a year earlier, the National Bureau of Statistics data showed Wednesday, rising from the Aprils 2.9% decline. Meanwhile, retail sales in May fell 6.7% year-on-year, easing from the 11% drop in April. Chinas fixed-asset investment jumped 6.2% from a year earlier to 20.6 trillion yuan in the first five months, the National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.
