On November 6, benchmark indices extended their gains for the third consecutive session, with the Nifty surpassing the 19,400 mark.
Closing figures revealed the Sensex surged by 594.91 points, marking a 0.92% rise to reach 64,958.69, while the Nifty climbed by 181.20 points, a 0.94% increase, closing at 19,411.80. Market breadth showcased 2378 shares advancing, 1285 shares declining, and 164 shares remaining unchanged.
Leading gainers on the Nifty included Divis Laboratories, Hero MotoCorp, Eicher Motors, Larsen & Toubro, and Axis Bank. Conversely, SBI, HUL, Tata Motors, Cipla, and Titan Company were among the stocks that witnessed losses.
All sectoral indices, apart from PSU Bank, concluded the day in positive territory, with pharma, capital goods, metal, oil & gas, power, and realty notching up gains of 1% each.
Furthermore, the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices both surged by 1% each, underlining the broader market’s favorable performance.
