Indian equity markets end the day in red

Indian equity markets ended the day in red today. Nifty 50 closed, down by 62.60 points. Sensex closed, down by 208.01 points. Top Gainers today were Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy’s and ITC. Top Losers today were Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports and Tata Motors. 

Selling pressure was there in some large-cap and mid-cap stocks. Profit booking was seen in Adani group stocks. These stocks had risen sharply over the past 2 days. Profit booking was also seen in Metal stocks. Buying demand was seen in some consumer durable stocks, pharma stocks, and healthcare stocks.

Suzlon, Reliance Power, and Idea were the most traded stocks today at NSE, in terms of volume. Adani Enterprises, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank were the most traded stocks in terms of value. 66 stocks touched new 52-week high today at NSE. 10 stocks touched new 52-week low.
