Indian equity markets end the day on a flat note

Indian equity markets had a volatile day today.  Recovery of early losses resulted in them ending on a flat note. Nifty 50 ended, up by 0.55 points. Sensex ended, down by 51.10 points. Top Gainers today were BPCL, Divi’s Lab, Coal India. Top Losers today were Asian Paint, Infosys, Kotak Bank. 

Micro-cap and small-cap stocks saw strong buying demand today. Oil & gas stocks, Metal stocks, and PSU Bank stocks saw strong buying demand. Consumer durable stocks, IT stocks and pharma stocks saw some selling pressure too. Yes Bank, Suzlon and JPPower were the most traded stocks today in terms of volume, at NSE. Yes Bank, Infosys and HDFC Bank were the most traded stocks in terms of value. 78 stocks touched their 52-week high today at NSE. 36 stocks touched their 52- week low.
