Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services company, has stated that it currently does not have an immediate requirement for campus hiring.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has initiated its campus hiring process for the fiscal year 2024-25.
Infosys’ outgoing CFO, Nilanjan Roy, mentioned during a press conference after the December quarter results that they are monitoring utilization and the Flexi hiring model. Currently, there is no indication of an immediate need for campus hiring.
Roy highlighted that Infosys maintains a robust off-campus program and can adapt if there is an uptick in volumes or demand.
This marks the second consecutive quarter where Infosys has opted not to conduct campus hiring. In October, Roy had communicated that the company would evaluate hiring plans based on quarterly demand assessments.
The headcount at Infosys decreased by 6,101 employees in the quarter ending December 31, resulting in a total of 322,663 employees. This marks the fourth consecutive quarter with a decline in headcount for the company.
In the previous quarter ending September 30, Infosys experienced its most significant headcount reduction ever, with a decrease of 7,530 employees, bringing the total to 328,764.
