The letter of award for the Rs 4,428 crore road project was received by IRB Infrastructure Trust, the private InvIT of IRB. This award brings the company’s asset base to Rs 75,000 crore, according to a statement issued by IRB Infrastructure on Sunday.
The project comprises tolling and operation and maintenance (O&M) works on the NH44 North-South corridor’s longest single continuous stretch of 316 km (1,264 lane miles).
The Trust was recently chosen as a preferred bidder for the Toll-Operate-Transfer (TOT) model for the revenue-linked concession of 20 years, which substantiates the IRB Group’s entry into Madhya Pradesh.
The said TOT-12 project is the single largest major highway link from Lalitpur to Lakhnadon spread across 316 kms between Srinagar in the North and Kanyakumari in the South, stated the company in its release. The project emphasizes on prime cities in Madhya Pradesh, Lalitpur, Gwalior, Narsinghpur, Sagar, and Lakhnadon.
The stretch consists of four toll plazas situated at Chitora, Titarpani, Malthone, and Bakori.
