LIC names SS Krishnan as Chief Risk Officer; stock slips ~1%

The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) announced the appointment of S Sunder Krishnan as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) on Wednesday.

He succeeds Pratap Chandra Paikray, who has stepped down as CRO, according to a regulatory filing by LIC.

Krishnan, a professional accountant, spent 18 years in executive positions with Reliance Nippon Life Insurance. He had held positions of leadership at DSP Merrill Lynch, ING Vysya, Credit Lyonnais Bank, and Bank International Indonesia.

Following this development, LIC’s counter was trading 1.19% lower at Rs 811.60, against the previous close of Rs 821.40 on NSE. The counter touched a new intraday low of Rs 806.60.
