Markets erase initial gains, trades flat amid volatility; Nifty below 18,200

Domestic benchmark indices gave up morning gains and trading flat in the rangebound session on Friday’s market session. Both the Sensex and Nifty benchmarks witnessed volatility on the last day of calendar year 2022.

On the sectoral front, Metal index outperforming by rising over 1% with auto and IT index surging marginally. Banking, pharma, FMCG index were trading flat but, in the red.

At around 2:00 PM, Sensex was trading at 61,163.42 higher by 29.54 points or 0.05%. Nifty 50 traded at 18,195.25 higher 4.25 points or 0.02%

Top Bulls on Nifty are Bajaj Finserv (+2.9%), ONGC (+1.9%), Bajaj Finance (+1.8%) supported by Hindalco (+1.6%) and Bajaj Auto (+1.6%). Meanwhile, top losers on Nifty are SBI Life (-1.9%), ICICI Bank (-1.5%), Eicher Motors (-1.1%), HDFC (-1%) and IndusInd Bank (-0.9%).

Furthermore, the electronics manufacturing company Elin Electronics listed at a discount of more than 1% in comparison to its issue price of Rs247. After the listing, the shares tumbled further, declining more than 6% against the issue price.
