Markets trade higher

Indian share markets are trading with some gains by the Wednesday afternoon session. Following the trend of their Asian counterparts, stocks of certain companies rose as concerns over global banking instability eased, leading to increased investor confidence.

On the sectoral front, Nifty Auto and Metal indices are trading about 1.5% higher. Nifty Bank and IT indices are showing marginal gains. All major sectoral indices are in the green.

Nifty Media has rallied the most with a nearly 3% uptick, led by Zee Entertainment’s settlement news with IndusInd Bank.

At around 2.00 PM, BSE Sensex is trading 202 points higher at 57,815. NSE Nifty is up by 78 points at 17,029.85.

Adani Enterprises rallied by 7%, followed by Adani Ports with a 6% upside. Both these stocks are the top NSE gainers today. Eicher Motors (+2.50%), Ultratech Cement (+2.09%), and Bajaj Auto (+1.98%) are trading about 2% higher.

Bharti Airtel (-1.11%) is the top loser on NSE. Reliance (-1.06%), and UPL (-0.88%) are dragging down the chart with a marginal downside. Asian Paint (-0.53%), and Power Grid (-0.47%) also put some pressure on the chart.

A total of 36 stocks advanced and 14 declined on the Nifty index.
