Maruti Suzuki Limited has announced the recall of 17,362 vehicles manufactured between December 8, 2022, to January 12, 2023.
The company said in its exchange filing that the affected models are Brezza, Alto K10, S-Presso, Baleno, Eeco, and Grand Vitara.
The company highlighted that the recall is being carried out to inspect and replace the Airbag Controller in these vehicles at no cost. It is suspected that a defect exists in the affected part, which could result in the non-deployment of the airbags and seat belt pretensioners in the event of a vehicle crash.
Customers who own the suspected vehicles are advised not to drive or use the vehicle until the affected part is replaced.
Affected vehicle owners will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki authorized workshops for immediate assistance, said the company.
At around 9.20 AM, Maruti Suzuki was trading at Rs8,473 per piece, down by 0.07% against the previous close of Rs8,479.35 on NSE. The counter opened at Rs8,473.
