A 56 MW floating solar power project at the Jharkhand-based NTPC North Karanpura Thermal Power Station has been put out to bid by NTPC Limited.
The scope of work includes purchasing and installing solar modules as well as developing a power evacuation system for the floating solar project.
A three-year contract for project operation and maintenance as well as an annual maintenance agreement for critical equipment are also required from the winning bidder.
The deadline for proposal submissions is November 17, 2023. The bid paperwork costs Rs 22,500 (about $270). The minimum bid security required by bidders is Rs 50 million ($600,515).
In order to submit a bid, a company must have prior experience developing, supplying, installing, and commissioning grid-connected solar photovoltaic power plants with a minimum capacity of 40 MW.
Before the technical and commercial bid opening date, one of these projects required to have a capacity of 10 MW or more and be in operation for at least six months.
Alternately, bidders must have created grid-connected solar projects with a combined capacity of at least 40 MW, at least one of which must have a capacity of 10 MW or more, and must have been in service for at least six months prior to the bid opening.
Additionally, bidders must have successfully completed an industrial project in the past ten years worth at least Rs 2.7 billion (about $32.4 million), either as a developer or an EPC contractor, in the power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertiliser, cement, coal mining, or any other process industry. Before the deadline for the opening of technical and commercial bids, the reference project shall have been in operation for at least a year.
Additionally, as a developer or EPC contractor, bidders must have completed at least one electrical substation with a 33 kV or higher voltage level, including components such 33 kV or higher circuit breakers and power transformers. Before the bid opening, the substation should have been in use for at least a year.
The three most recent financial years’ average annual turnover of the bidders cannot be less than Rs 2.7 billion (about $32.4 million).
At the NTPC Ramagundam Super Thermal Power Plant in Telangana, NTPC requested bids in September for the project’s 120 MW ground-mounted and 56 MW floating solar installations.
