Price of fuel on September 23

23 Sep 2022 , 10:11 AM

Gasoline and diesel prices were constant on September 23 across metro regions, according to the most recent price notice distributed by fuel merchants. Fuel prices have stayed unchanged for more than a month despite a drop in crude oil prices on the world market.
For petrol and diesel, Delhi costs Rs96.72 and Rs89.62 a litre, respectively. Mumbai residents pay Rs106.31 for a litre of gasoline and Rs94.27 for a litre of diesel. In Chennai and Kolkata, the cost of diesel and gasoline is, respectively, Rs102.63, Rs94.24, Rs106.03, and Rs92.76.
In order to prepare for maintenance, Indian Oil Corp. will halt processing half of the oil and shut down a naphtha hydrocracker for around 80 days at its 300,000 barrels per day (BPD) Panipat refinery in northern India.

The nation’s top refiner will begin shutting down its naphtha cracker at its Panipat site on Monday for an upgrade meant to improve its ability to produce ethylene, according to the people familiar with the idea. In addition to producing 857,000 tonnes of ethylene annually, the cracker also consumes around 2.3 million tonnes of naphtha.

Oil prices rose in early Asian trade on Friday due to the prospect that a postponed Iran nuclear deal and Moscow’s renewed mobilisation effort in its invasion of Ukraine would further constrict global supplies. By 00:20 GMT, Brent oil prices had risen by 16 cents, or 0.2%, to $90.62 per barrel, while WTI crude futures had risen by 22 cents to $83.71 per barrel in the United States.
Oil prices rose after a senior U.S. State Department official said that efforts to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal had been impeded by Tehran’s insistence on halting the U.N. nuclear watchdog’s inspections.
