Nifty FMCG index closed down 1.72% at 36149.35 today. The index has lost 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Marico Ltd fell 3.77%, Britannia Industries Ltd shed 3.53% and Godrej Consumer Products Ltd slipped 3.25%. The Nifty FMCG index has increased 6.00% over last one year compared to the 16.10% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Infrastructure index has slid 1.69% and Nifty Metal index gained 1.50% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.98% to close at 17117.6 while the SENSEX has declined 0.99% to close at 57292.49 today.
